
Men's Tennis Challenges Division II's No. 3 Armstrong Atlantic State on Sunday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – With their second match against a tough opponent in three days, the University of North Florida men's tennis hosts Division II's No. 3 Armstrong Atlantic State on Sunday at 1 p.m., at the UNF Tennis Complex.
“Armstrong Atlantic State is a program that expects to win national championships,” said UNF head coach Adam Schaechterle. “They have a great coach and a talented team, and we will need to be at our best to win.”
This is the second consecutive match in which UNF has a played a Top-3 nationally ranked Division II team. The Ospreys defeated Division II's No. 2 Barry 5-2 on Friday. UNF claimed the doubles point and four of the singles matches against the Buccaneers.
UNF carries a three-match win streak into Sunday's match. Additionally, several players are riding three-match winning streaks. In doubles, Norbert Nemcsek and Daniel Sotomarino have won their last three at the No. 2 spot. At No. 3, Moritz Buerchner and Leonardo Nahar have claimed their last three. Meanwhile, Buerchner has taken the last three matches at No. 1 singles.
Sunday's match is the third of four straight road matches for the Pirates. Armstrong Atlantic State has won its first two matches of the Spring season, sweeping Saint Leo 9-0 and beating Division II No. 8 Rollins 8-1. Several of Armstrong Atlantic State's players are nationally ranked, including the doubles duo of Matus Mydla and Pedro Scocuglia at No. 3. In singles, the Pirates have the nation's No. 2 (Eudalado Bonet), No. 9 (Mydla), No. 23 (Jean-Michel Blouin), No. 28 (Scocuglia) and No. 39 (Sven Lalic) players and Daniel Regan is receiving votes.
