
Men's Tennis Advances To ASUN Semifinals With Sweep Over Austin Peay

Fort Myers, Fla. – Top-seeded North Florida Men's Tennis swept Eighth-seeded Austin Peay, 4-0, in the ASUN quarterfinals in Fort Myers, Fla., on Wednesday morning.Â
For the fifth-straight season, the Ospreys advanced to the ASUN Semifinal round.
Pairing up for the first time this season, graduate student Breno Marques and sophomore Joao Portugal cruised to a 6-2 win on court three to kick off doubles play.
Freshman Riccardo Ciulli and sophomore Youssef Labbene clinched the doubles point for UNF with a 6-4 win on court two.Â
North Florida began singles play winning the first set on all six singles courts.
Marques earned a dominant 6-0, 6-0 sinles win on court five. Graduate Student Andreas Scott earned a 6-3, 6-4 win on court one. For Scott, it marked his eighth-straight win on the top singles court.Â
Freshman Aron Major clinched the match for UNF with a 6-2, 6-1 win on court six. With the win, Major improved to 13-3 in singles this spring and 10-2 on court six.
The top-seeded Ospreys will face the winner of No. 4 Eastern Kentucky and No. 5 FGCU in the semifinal round on Friday, April 17 at 9 a.m. ET.
