MEN'S TENNIS WEEKLY

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida men's tennis team will hit the road for a Friday dual against Atlantic Sun Conference opponent Campbell. Match time is set for 1 p.m.

The Ospreys picked up wins last weekend at the Wichita State Shocker Invitational over Oral Roberts and Arkansas Little Rock before falling 4-1 to 75^th-ranked Wichita State. Senior No. 1 player Eduardo Pereira highlighted the weekend with his impressive 6-4, 6-3 win over 107^th-ranked Tiago Espirito Santo of WSU.

With five conference matches remaining, the match will be an important one for the Ospreys if they are to climb back to the top of the standings. UNF currently stands in fifth place, but a win would move them ahead of Campbell to fourth.

The Camels have won their last two conference matches, with the victories coming over Jacksonville and Mercer. Overall, Campbell has won four of its last five.

Who's Hot: Sophomore Kurt Gattiker was a combined 3-1 last weekend in singles and doubles matches at the WSU Shocker Invitational. He picked up a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 win against Arkansas Little Rock's Juan Carlos Nunez in No. 5 singles to help UNF wrap up the win. He teamed with doubles partner Eduardo Pereira to go 2-1. He was also ahead in his No. 6 singles match against Oral Roberts but did not finish because the Ospreys had already clinched the match win.

UNF Notables: Javier Ferrin and Adrian Escarate have teamed to win their last four doubles matches and have been victorious in six of their last seven … Pereira did not move into the ITA rankings despite picking up his first career win over a ranked opponent and improving his overall dual record to 12-1 … Gattiker and Pereira are 4-1 in A-Sun doubles matches this season.
