As a freshman, 2004-05: Competed in the National Independent Conference meet, where she swam a personal best time of :25.75 in the 25-freestyle.
High School: 2004 graduate of Bishop Kenny High School, where she swam for Emily Short. Competed as a freshman, junior and senior and sat out her sophomore season with an injury. Member of the 200-fresstyle relay team that won a state championship her sophomore year. Qualified for the state meet as a sophomore and a senior. Finished second in districts her sophomore and senior years in the 100-brestsroke and 50-freestyle. Competed in both the Junior Olympics and Florida Junior Olympics. Ran cross country during her sophomore year.
Personal: Majoring in psychology and communications. Born July 12, 1985, in Jacksonville, Fla., her hometown. Daughter of Susan and William Strom. Has a younger brother, Theodore, as well as three younger sisters; Nicole, Jane Marie and Laura.
