CORAL GABLES, Fla. -Â North Florida Swimming opened its 2026-27 season against Miami (Fla.) and Ohio on Oct. 2-3 at Whitten Center Pool in Coral Gables, Fla.
UNF would compete in 14 total events on Friday.Â
For the Ospreys, junior Reeves Showfety, senior Ashley Kirby, senior Kayla Daley and junior Abby Noga earned a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:45.97.
Kirby would earn another podium finish with a 1:04.51 time in the 100 breaststroke to earn a second-place finish.
North Florida would close out the weekend competing in seven events on Saturday.
Kirby would post a personal-best time of 29.18 to win the 50 breaststroke with sophomore Kendall Hudgens posting a time of 30.33 to place third.
Junior Caroline Costantini and senior Amanda Ulicny each made their Osprey debuts as incoming transfers. Freshman Payton Griffin, freshman Caroline Hughes and freshman Shelby Kolton all made their collegiate debuts.
"Friday afternoon was all about executing the details we've been focusing on in practice every day," Head Coach Lindsey McKnight said. "Our team did a great job committing to their race plans, competing with confidence and stepping up against two strong teams."
"Today was a fun way to close out the weekend, with an emphasis on sprint events and some non-traditional relays. Overall, it was a great opportunity for us to test where we are in our training and continue building toward the season ahead."Â
