As a junior, 2005-06: Finished in the top three in nine of the 15 races she swam with two first-place finishes on the year ... recorded a first-place finish against New Orleans in the 200-freestyle with a time of 1:59.09 ... followed that up with a second-place finish in the same meet in the 500-freestyle, finishing that event in 5:19.60 ... recorded a second-place finish against Florida Atlantic in the 1000-freestyle with a time of 10:54.90 ... other top performances include a first-place finish against Florida Southern in the 1000-freestyle and a second place-place finish in the 500-freestyle in the same meet.
As a Sophomore in 2004-05:Recorded three top five finishes on the season to go along with four top 10s ... best performance of the year was a third place finish in the 1650 freestyle at the National Independent Conference Meet ... finished that race in a time of 18:13.31 ... had a strong showing in the Gardner-Webb/Campbell meet Nov. 12, finishing fourth in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:30.32 before finishing eighth in the 100 freestyle with a time of :59.16 ... finished fifth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:02.59 in the team[apos]s final home meet of the season, Jan. 15, against FIU and Georgia Southern.
As a Freshman in 2003-04: Won the 400-yard relay in 3:42.57 against FSU/UNC Wilmington. Placed third in the 100-yard freestyle (57.62) against Florida Southern and in the 200-yard medley relay (1:53.47) against FSU/UNC Wilmington. Made the Peach Belt Presidential Honor Roll.
High School: 2003 graduate of Midlothian High School in Midlothian, Va. Swam for the Poseidon swim club and was coached by Ted Sallade. Competed in the United States swimming sectionals championship throughout high school. Earned three bronze medals and one silver medal for the number of points earned for her improved times on her club swim team. She was a member of the Student Council Association and Spirit Club and earned an academic letter her junior and senior years.
Personal: Majoring in secondary education. Born Feb. 21, 1985, to Ken and Sue Beals in Brockton, Mass. She likes to spend time with friends and go to the beach.
