ORLANDO, Fla. – Junior Kayla Daley broke the 200 Butterfly program record with a Finals time of 2:01.62 on Day Three of the 2026 ASUN Championships at the Rosen Aquatic Center in Orlando, Fla on Friday.
Â
The previous 200 Butterfly program record of 2:02.05 was set by Amy Taylor in 2015-16. The record performance occured the day after Daley became the program's first All-ASUN finisher when she medaled in the 100 Butterfly on Thursday.Â
Â
"Friday morning started with three of our backstrokers making back in the C Final in the 100 Backstroke," Head Coach Ian Coffey said. "In the 100 Breaststroke, Victoria Torres made the A Final, Ashley Kirby and Kendall Hudges advanced to the B Final, and Ellie Hixenbaugh and Kendall Butler earned a spot in the C Final. Kayla Daley placed eighth in the 200 Butterfly to secure a spot in the A Finals. Â
Â
"To start the Friday Finals, our 800 Free Relay did a solid job. Reeves Showfety and Amanda Loomis stepped up in the 100 Backstroke C Final. All five of our breaststroke swimmers did a great job in the 100 Breaststroke. In the A Final of the 200 Butterfly, Kayla Daley broke the program record with a time of 2:01.62."
Â
"We close tomorrow with five events. We're battling and swimming fast. We're looking to close out the meet on a high note."
