JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The home portion of No. 52 University of North Florida men's tennis concludes this weekend when the Ospreys host Belmont on Friday and Lipscomb on Saturday at the UNF Tennis Complex. Friday's match is set for 2 p.m., while Saturday's match will be at 10 a.m., in conjunction with the women's match between UNF and Lipscomb.
At Saturday's match, the Ospreys will honor senior Graham Edgar, who wraps up his four-year playing career this spring.
UNF enters its final two home matches riding a four-match winning streak and are coming off a 4-3 win last Saturday at then-No. 74 Stetson. Friday's meeting with Belmont will be the Ospreys' first home match in nearly two-and-a-half weeks. In UNF's last home match, the Ospreys swept Elon 7-0 to end the non-conference portion of the schedule. However, in the Ospreys' last home Atlantic Sun match, ETSU snuck by the Ospreys 4-3.
Belmont returns to the road for one final time in the regular season when the Bruins travel to Jacksonville for a pair of matches. The Bruins begin the two-match weekend at UNF on Friday and then venture to Jacksonville on Saturday. Belmont has lost its last two matches, both of which were home matches against USC Upstate and ETSU last weekend. However, the Bruins secured a two-match road sweep of Mercer and Kennesaw State two weeks ago.
Lipscomb is coming off a 7-0 mid-week loss at No. 56 Middle Tennessee State on Wednesday. The Bison have struggled since starting Atlantic Sun play, going 2-4 overall and 2-3 against conference opponents. Both of Lipscomb's last two wins were 4-3 decisions and came at Mercer and against USC Upstate. The doubles duo of David Salazar and Colby Shaw enter the weekend undefeated against A-Sun opponents at No. 3 doubles. Salazar and Shaw have won their last seven doubles matches and are 12-1 at No. 3 doubles overall and 5-0 in the conference.
