This includes areas of student-athlete welfare and eligibility, rules education for students, coaches, staff and the public, as well as ongoing NCAA legislative changes. Experience: While in graduate school at the University of Tennessee, volunteered with the softball team and the athletics department academic support center ... in that capacity devoted a significant amount of time to helping develop/mentor student-athletes in their academic endeavors ... spent three years as the Academic Advisor/Compliance Assistant at Siena College ... in that capacity ran all aspects of the Academic Support Services and Champs Lifeskills program, including monitoring academic progress, determining continuing eligibility, securing speakers for personal/professional development, coordinating community service efforts, participating in admissions department programming, supervising gameday activities and serving as the SAAC advisor ... member of N4A - organized and conducted Region I meeting held at Siena College ... selected [quote]Most Promising Newcomer[quote] by N4A in 2003 ... in the fall of 2003, moved to the Peach Belt Conference Office to become the Director of Compliance ... in this capacity provided support to member institutions in regards to NCAA regulations, organized YES Clinics, monitored all eligibility paperwork and provided various other services as needed ... currently works within the UNF Athletics Department as it continues transition to Division I ... duties include keeping staff updated on legislative issues, researching questions, acting as SAAC advisor and filling in as necessary.
