ORLANDO - North Florida men's tennis struggled against UCF as the Knights picked up a 5-2 victory on Saturday morning at the UCF Tennis Complex.
Lasse Muscheites and Zach Goldberg stepped up to the No. 1 position and won 7-5 in doubles, but UCF grabbed wins in the other two matches for the point.
In singles play, Chris Barrus quickly put the home team up 2-0 with a victory in the No. 3 spot before Nico De Fraia topped Andrey Alawi in the No. 5 singles match. Freshman Sahil Deshmukh put UNF on the board with a 6-2, 7-5 win in the No. 6 spot for a 3-1 match.
Inaki Espindola extended the Knights lead with a victory against Yannick Zuern who played in the No. 1 singles match before another victory from UCF clinched the match in three sets at the No. 4 position. Muscheites claimed the other singles win in the No. 2 spot with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, win.
The Ospreys now have almost two weeks to prepare for No. 35 LSU on Friday, Feb. 26.
