
No. 75 UNF to Host Winthrop

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 75 University of North Florida men's tennis team will host Big South Conference defending champion, Winthrop on Wednesday, March 16 at 2 p.m. at the UNF Tennis Complex in Jacksonville, Fla.
The Ospreys (7-5) hope to rebound after faltering against Radford, 5-2 in their last match. UNF claimed points by winning the doubles point early with victories in the No. 2 from Daniel Sotomarino and Hleb Maslau and the No. 3 as Leonardo Nahar and Pedro Davisson teamed up for a win. Sotomarino also claimed a point with a win in the No. 3 singles match.
Sotomarino has tallied a 9-3 mark this season while Moritz Buerchner is 8-3. Maslau is 7-5 with Davisson adding a 6-5 record in singles play. Nahar has gone 5-7 and Beuregard Treyz is 4-8 in singles matches. Sotomarino and Maslau have teamed up in doubles play to post a 10-2 tally midway through the season while Nahar and Davisson have a mark of 4-2.
Winthrop (6-5) claimed a 7-0 win over Jacksonville in the team's last match. The Eagles are the defending Big South Conference champions and return several all-conference players from last season including first team selections, Sergey Belov, Nadav Ruppin and Guy Kubi.
The Ospreys will remain at home following Wednesday's match to host Mercer at noon on Friday, March 18 followed by Kennesaw State on Saturday, March 19 beginning at 2 p.m.
