UNF Men’s Tennis to Play a Pair of Matches Over Weekend

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida men's tennis team will play a pair of matches over the weekend beginning with Central Florida at home on Friday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. The Ospreys will follow that up with a road match at Georgia Southern on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 1 p.m.

UNF (6-2) is coming off a, 6-1 win over College of Charleston last weekend. The Ospreys fell behind in the first set of five singles matches before rallying to defeat the Cougars. UNF picked up points in the No.1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 matches with freshmen Moritz Buerchner, Taylor Albrecht and Leonardo Nahar and junior Hleb Maslau and Graham Edgar winning their respective matches.

UCF (3-2) fell to No. 31 Miami, 4-3 the last time out. The Knights won three singles matches to score against the Hurricanes. UCF's duo of Blake Schwartz and Marc Rocafort are currently ranked No. 24 in the latest ITA doubles rankings.

Georgia Southern (4-5) is coming off a 6-1 win over Jacksonville. The Eagles advanced to the quarterfinals of the Southern Conference tournament last season before falling to UNC Greensboro.

Following Saturday's match, the Ospreys will remain on the road as they open up Atlantic Sun action on Thursday, March 4 at Florida Gulf Coast at 2 p.m. before traveling to Stetson on Saturday, March 6 for a 10 a.m. match.
