UNF fell 4-0 to No. 60 East Tennessee State
BRISTOL, Tenn. – Playing at the Bristol Racquet Club thanks to inclement weather, the University of North Florida men's tennis team couldn't find its stroke against No. 60 East Tennessee State Friday night and dropped a 4-0 decision for its second-straight loss.
The Ospreys (9-7, 4-3 A-Sun) fell behind early when the Bucs (6-7, 4-0) used wins at the top two positions to gather the doubles point. Once in control of the match, the nationally-ranked home team quickly sealed the win by grabbing the first three singles results.
Senior Federico Levi fell victim to No. 11 Enrique Olivares in straight sets at the No. 1 position while junior Ronnie Sang experienced rough loss at No. 2. Sang sprinted to a 5-2 lead in the first set, but Sander Gille took the next five games and the first set, 7-5, before rattling off six-straight game in set two.
Grega Teraz defeated sophomore Graham Edgar in back-to-back sets at No. 3 for the final result of the match. The remaining slots posted no results as the match was ended when clinched by the Bucs.
UNF will spend two days preparing for its road trip-closing match at USC Upstate at 2 p.m. Monday.
