As a freshman, 2007-08: Finished 13-17 overall in singles play, including 10-10 in duals ... was 5-5 against the Atlantic Sun Conference ... posted a 6-4 record at No. 4 singles ... picked up a straight set win over Aaron Krisan of 29th-ranked South Alabama (2/8) ... had a five-match winning streak that included win over Hofstra, College of Charleston, Lipscomb, Belmont and Gardner-Webb ... closed out season with wins over Mercer and Jacksonville.
Other Experience: Earned numerous Florida and national rankings during his junior career … participated in the national clay and hardcourt tournaments … also played in the Florida Zonals.
High School: Graduated from Pensacola's B.T. Washington High School in 2007 … squad won the Class 3A state title his senior season … earned all-state honors following his senior season … was an honor student at BTW.
Personal: Born on Dec. 16, 1988, in Pensacola, Fla. … son of Sharon Barnett and Russell Edgar … has two younger sisters, Ashley and Lauren … majoring in business management … lists among his future goals as playing on the ATP Tour and earning a national ranking while in college.
