UNF at No. 75 in latest ITA Rankings; to face No. 75 Stetson next
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida men's tennis team has worked its way back into the national rankings. Now it will face the challenge of staying there.
After moving into the ITA team rankings for the first time as a Division I program in late February, two quick losses knocked the Ospreys out of the poll just as quickly a week later. On Tuesday, the Ospreys moved back into the Top 75 in the nation at the No. 75 position.
The Ospreys will put their latest ranking to the test this week with a pair of matches against Atlantic Sun Conference foes. Up first is Stetson, which is tied with the Ospreys in the No. 75 position and also undefeated in A-Sun play. UNF is 2-0 against the Hatters since moving to Division I in 2006. This is the first time the squads will meet as ranked foes.
Following Thursday's meeting with the Hatters comes a road matchup with A-Sun newcomer Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday.
UNF's Upcoming Schedule:
Thursday at Stetson, Noon (DeLand, Fla.)
Saturday at Florida Gulf Coast, 11 a.m. (Fort Myers, Fla.)

Who's Hot: Senior Eduardo Pereira continued a brilliant senior season this past weekend with an undefeated weekend in three matches ... Pereira was 3-0 in singles, moving his winning streak to 11 straight matches ... he was also 3-0 in doubles competition, moving his winning streak to six straight matches ... overall this season, Pereira is 18-3 in singles and 12-1 in doubles with partner Kurt Gattiker.
UNF Notables: Graham Edgar, Adrian Escarate and Javier Ferrin each have won five straight singles matches and were 3-0 this past weekend ... UNF has just a 3-7 mark at No. 1 doubles this season ... the Ospreys are 18-0 in A-Sun singles matchups this season.
