Ospreys set to open A-Sun play

UNF welcomes Lipscomb, Belmont, Gardner-Webb this weekend
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida men's tennis team has spent the first month of its season preparing for the challenges of Atlantic Sun Conference play. This weekend, the Ospreys will have an opportunity to put their lessons learned to the test.
UNF opens A-Sun play with three matches at the UNF Tennis Complex, playing Lipscomb on Friday, Belmont on Saturday and Gardner-Webb on Sunday.
The Ospreys (4-3) were ranked nationally for one week earlier this month after knocking off 29th-ranked South Alabama but promptly lost back-to-back matches. They have rallied with wins in their last two outings, however, and will enter this weekend hoping to get a strong starton their quest for a regular-season conference title.

Who's Hot: Senior Eduardo Pereira has continued his torrid pace to start dual play, staying perfect with his win over College of Charleston's Omer Abramovich last week (4-6, 6-3, 6-0) ... the victory marked the first time in six dual matches that Pereira has been pushed to three sets ... overall, Pereira has won his last eight singles matches dating back to the Samford Winter Invitational in January.
UNF Notables: The bottom two doubles tandems have been strong for UNF this season, combining to go 11-2 overall ... Kurt Gattiker and Pereira are 6-1 at the No. 2 position with three straight wins, while Adrian Escarate and Javier Ferrin are 5-1 with three straight victories at No. 3 ... Escarate has also been a force in singles for the Ospreys since joining the team in January, going 5-3 overall with a 4- 1 mark in dual matches.
