2003 (Notre Dame): As a freshman, appeared in 56 games while making most starts (50) among first-year players, platooning in left field ... seventh on team with .299 batting average, sharing team lead in triples (5, second among BIG EAST players), plus team-best 12 sacrifice bunts ... second on team in stolen bases (15-of-21; 11th BIG EAST) and third in runs (43), plus 25 RBIs and 17 walks (3 2B, 2 HBP, .363 on-base, .370 slugging) ... made just one error in 68 chances (.985; 2 assists) ... totaled 12 multi-hit games, six with multiple RBIs ... led BIG EAST with four triples in conference play (.295, 12 RBIs, 19 R, 2B, 10 BB, 6 SAC, 7 SB) ... had two hits in 3-1, 10-inning win over Vanderbilt in Jacksonville at Kennel Club Classic ... drilled first-pitch offering from reliever Jensen Lewis into right-center gap for decisive triple in that game, plating Steve Sollmann for go-ahead run before scoring on Matt Macri[apos]s first-pitch single (helping end duel between ND[apos]s Chris Niesel and Vanderbilt LHP Jeremy Sowers).
