Mike Fryrear is beginning his first year as a graduate assistant coach for the Osprey baseball team. Fryrear is currently working on his graduate degree at UNF.
A four-year letterman with the Ospreys, Fryrear was a standout second baseman for UNF helping lead the team to a runner-up finish at the 2005 NCAA Division II National Baseball Championship in Montgomery, Ala.
As a senior, the Valrico, Fla., native earned South Atlantic Regional All-Tournament honors after batting .389 with five RBIs and four runs scored in five games. For the season, Fryrear hit .296 with 24 RBIs, seven doubles and a triple.
Fryrear finished his playing career at UNF with a .303 batting average and 114 RBIs.
