Ospreys Rack Up Five Wins, Every Osprey Adds a Victory

LAKE NONA, Fla. - North Florida men's tennis' first day of the fall and first day at the UCF Fall Sizzler opened with the Ospreys having success in doubles and singles play, as North Florida combined to win five matches at the USTA National Campus.

All four of the Ospreys competing in the tournament tallied at least a singles or doubles victory as UNF won three matches in doubles play and a pair in singles. Matt Carroll also advanced via a bye in his only singles match, while winning two doubles contests with Bruno Vietri in the main draw of the "Fire Bracket".

Each of UNF's wins came in straight sets, as the Ospreys picked up quality victories against teams such as UCF, Cornell, Stetson and Furman. Crespo won in convincing fashion against UCF's Emilio Sanchez, winning 6-1, 6-1. Vietri hung tough against Cornell's Bradley Paliska, downing his opponent 7-6, 6-2.

Carroll and Vietri nabbed their doubles wins against foes from Stetson and Cornell, while Crespo teamed up with freshman Spencer Dorosheff to win 7-5 against Furman's pair of Westling and Kennedy. Dorosheff made his UNF debut with the doubles win.
