
Top-Seeded Men’s Tennis Earns Multiple ASUN Honors

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After securing the top seed in the 2026 ASUN Men's Tennis Championship, North Florida's success was recognized with multiple major conference honors, including Coach of the Year, Player of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Head Coach John Collins was named ASUN Coach of the Year. After finishing the 2024-25 season with an 8-17 mark and a five seed in the conference tournament, North Florida has posted an ASUN-best 13-8 record highlighted by a 9-3 home record this spring to help the Ospreys clinch the top seed in the 2026 ASUN Men's Tennis Championship. Collins picked up his 100th win career win against College of Charleston on Feb. 6.Â
For the second-consecutive year, graduate Student Andreas Scott was named both the ASUN Player of the Year and to the First Team All-ASUN.
He has posted a 14-10 record on the year and an 8-7 mark this spring at the number one singles position. He currently boasts a 12.75 UTR. He has won seven-consecutive singles matches on the top court.Â

Scott was named the 2026 Preseason Player of the Year and ASUN Player of the Week on March 24. Scott's most notable wins have come against No. 99 Hugo Car from South Florida (13.40 UTR), Piotr Siekanowicz from Tennessee (12.57 UTR), Ben Hudson from Kennesaw State (12.34 UTR), Albert Saar from Georgia Southern (12.34 UTR), Braden Hanning from South Alabama (12.54 UTR), Tanner Povey from FGCU (12.33 UTR) and Alexandre Verlaguet from Stetson (12.77 UTR).
Freshmen Aron Major and Kyle Piqueras were both named to the All-Freshman Team, marking the first time since 2016 that North Florida has placed multiple players on the team.
Piqueras has posted an 18-11 record on the year with a 10-8 mark in singles play this spring playing the number one, two, three and four positions, Piqueras is one of three Ospreys with 10 or more singles wins. He currently holds a 12.13 UTR which is the best in the ASUN among all freshmen.

Piqueras's most notable wins have come against Tomas Marin from UNCW (12.04 UTR), Henrique Ushizima from Lipscomb (12.02 UTR), Anthony Weigarten from Kennesaw State (11.92 UTR) and Christian Kuehne from Stetson (12.30 UTR).

Major posted a team-best 12-3 mark this spring with a 1-0 mark on court four, a 2-1 mark on court five and a 9-2 mark on court six. Major boasts an 11.98 UTR. Major began the spring season on a seven-match win streak. He is one of three Ospreys with 10 or more singles wins.
In doubles play, Major has recorded a 6-7 record this spring playing on court one and two.
Scott was also named ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive season, becoming the first in program history to earn the honor in back-to-back years. He also joined graduate student Breno Marques and sophomore Youssef Labbene in being selected to the Academic All-ASUN Team. Scott boasts a 3.84 grade-point average in Business Analytics. He has posted 6 impacts and 16 community service hours.

Marques boasts a 3.87 grade-point average in Business Analytics.  He has been named to the ASUN Academic Honor Roll five times, the ITA Scholar-Athlete Team three times, the 2024 ASUN All-Academic Team and the 2023 and 2024 CSC Academic All-District Team.

He is 6-11 in singles this spring with a 1-1 record on the top court and a 2-2 mark on the fifth court. Marques boasts a 12.12 UTR. Marques was one of three Ospreys to advance to the Quarterfinal round of the Conference Individual Tournament at UNF Tennis Complex last fall.
In doubles play, Marques is a team-best 10-7 this spring highlighted by a 6-1 mark on the third court. Alongside Enrique Pena, the duo has posted a 5-1 mark on the third doubles court.Â
Labbene boasts a 4.00 grade-point average in Business Intelligence. He was named 2024-25 ASUN Academic Honor Roll and the 2024-25 ITA Scholar Athlete Team.

Labbene is 8-9 this spring in singles play, highlighted by a 7-6 record at the number two position and a 1-0 mark on the top court. He currently boasts a 12.22 UTR. Labbene was named ASUN Player of the Week on Feb. 10 and Feb. 24. Labbene was one of three Ospreys to advance to the Quarterfinal round of the Conference Individual Tournament at UNF Tennis Complex last fall.Â
North Florida will travel to Fort Myers, Florida, for the 2026 ASUN Men's Tennis Championship, hosted by Florida Gulf Coast University, with competition beginning April 14. The top-seeded Ospreys will face the winner of Austin Peay and Bellarmine in the Quarterfinal round on Wednesday, April 15 at 9 a.m. ET.
