JACKSONVILLE - North Florida men's tennis prepares for another tough match as No. 64 Georgia State comes to town on Thursday at 5 p.m. The match was originally scheduled for Friday, but due to the weather forecast the teams moved the match up a day.
UNF is on a two-game skid and 1-3 in its last four outings. Individually, sophomore Lasse Muscheites is riding a five-match winning streak in singles play and earned A-Sun Player of the Week honors. The Ospreys are without No. 1 player Jack Findel-Hawkins and have moved their line up around to fill the spot. Yannick Zuern is in the No. 1 spot and continues to hold a team-high 13 singles victories overall, while Muscheites leads the team with seven dual match wins. In doubles, Muscheites and Zach Goldberg are 6-4 in the last 10 matches and lead the team with five victories in dual competition.
The Panthers are currently riding a four-match winning streak and are 8-3 overall. The team is showing strong and consistent play, led behind doubles Zackery Kennedy and Jack MacFarlane and singles players Andrei Andrukhou and Jannis Koeke. Andrukhou and Koeke have both won two of their last three matches while Kennedy and MacFarlane have gone undefeated in the last three pairings.
After facing the Panthers, North Florida heads south to play VCU, USF and Pepperdine in the USF Invitational next weekend beginning on March 25.
