FORT MYERS, Fla. – University of North Florida softball fell in both games of its doubleheader at Florida Gulf Coast on Friday afternoon, dropping Game One 4-0 and then Game Two 1-0 at the FGCU Softball Complex.

All of Florida Gulf Coast's runs in Game One came in the first two innings. The Eagles went up 1-0 in the first as Jessica Barnes scored on Kelsey Carpenter's hit up the middle. Florida Gulf Coast's remaining runs were all in the second. Barnes drove in two runs with a triple to right center and then scored on Makensie McAvoy's single through the left side.

Kaylie Wallace had the loss after giving up three earned runs off nine hits in 6.0 innings. Wallace also fanned five batters.

Shelby Morgan received the win. Morgan gave up five hits and struck out four in 7.0 innings in order to get the complete game shutout.

Five different Ospreys had hits.

Barnes went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI for the Eagles.

In Game Two, the only run came in the bottom of the third. Chelsea Zgrabik's hit up the middle brought home Barnes from second to put Florida Gulf Coast up 1-0.

Cortney Radke had the loss after allowing one run off six hits in 4.1 innings.

Amanda Josie was credited with the win after keeping UNF to three hits and striking out four in 6.0 innings. Morgan came in for the final 1.0 inning and got the save.

Katie Mandigo was 2-for-3 from the plate in Game Two for the Ospreys (25-21, 9-14 Atlantic Sun).

McAvoy and Carpenter were both 2-for-3 for the Eagles (27-21-1, 10-10 Atlantic Sun).

The series ends on Saturday with a single game scheduled for 2 p.m., at the FGCU Softball Complex.
