FORT MYERS, Fla. – University of North Florida softball fell 6-0 in the series finale with Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday at the FGCU Softball Complex.

Florida Gulf Coast (28-21-1, 11-10 Atlantic Sun) went up 1-0 in the first as Makensie McAvoy scored on Kelsey Carpenter's groundout. The Eagles took a two-run lead on Chelsea Zgrabik's home run to right field.

Florida Gulf Coast scored twice in both the fourth and fifth to go up 6-0. A fielder's choice and a single brought in both of the Eagles' runs in the fourth. In the fifth, a sacrifice fly and a double allowed the Eagles to plate two runs in the inning.

Kaylie Wallace had the loss after allowing four runs off seven hits in 3.1 innings. She also struck out two.

Amanda Josie was credited with the win after holding UNF to three hits in 4.0 innings of relief. She struck out one.

Ashia Kerr went 2-for-3 for the Ospreys (25-22, 9-15 Atlantic Sun).

Three Eagles each had two hits.

UNF plays its final series of the regular season against Stetson at the UNF Softball Complex. The series begins with a doubleheader on Wednesday, Apr. 30 at 5 p.m., and concludes with a single game on Thursday, May 1 at 1 p.m. Admission to all home UNF softball games is free.
