ATHENS, Ga. – Tough competition awaits University of North Florida men's tennis at the five-day 2014 USTA/ITA Southeast Regional Championships held at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex at the University of Georgia Oct. 16-20. Two Ospreys are currently slated to compete in Thursday's Qualifying Singles, while four Ospreys are automatically in Friday's Singles Main Draw. UNF has four pairs in the Doubles Main Draw.
Â
"Our goal for the team this fall was to show the guys the best college tennis in the country, so they can understand where we are trying to take this program," said head coach Mark Finnegan. "We are bringing the whole team to compete in one of the toughest regions in the country. It's my hope that the guys will only focus on what's controllable and be optimistic with themselves with the uncontrollable parts of tennis. We are growing and getting better each week, so I'm excited to see what the outcome will be."
Â
Fifteen schools from Florida and Georgia will compete in the tournament. Participating schools include Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State, Mercer, Miami, Stetson, UCF, UNF and USF.
