
No. 75 UNF Hosts a Pair of A-Sun Matches

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 75 North Florida men's tennis team will host a pair of Atlantic Sun Conference matches at the UNF Tennis Complex. On Friday, March 18, the Ospreys welcome Mercer in a noon match followed by Kennesaw State on Saturday, March 19 at 2 p.m.
The Ospreys (7-6) were edged by Winthrop, 4-3 in their last match. UNF claimed the doubles point by sweeping the matches while Leonardo Nahar and Hleb Maslau both picked up wins in singles play.
Maslau improved to 8-3 on the season while Daniel Sotomarino has posted a 9-4 record on the season. The two have teamed up in doubles play for an 11-2 mark. Moritz Buerchner is 8-3 this season, playing all his singles matches in the No. 1.
Pedro Davisson has notched a 6-6 record this season while Nahar is 6-7. Beauregard Treyz has a 4-9 mark.
The Bears (6-7) fell to Butler, 4-3 in their last outing. David Barton, John Bauerle and Justin Cecil secured points for Mercer in the match. Last season, the Bears finished eighth in the A-Sun end of the year standings. UNF claimed a 4-3 win over the Bears in 2010.
KSU (7-7) fell to Stetson, 5-2 the last time out. The Owls secured point with Gokalp Ozdemir and Elliot Kahler picking up wins in their singles' matches. KSU finished the 2010 season ranked 10th in the A-Sun.
UNF will take to the road following the weekend matches, traveling to Nashville, Tenn. to face Lipscomb on March 25 followed by Belmont on March 26.
