Ospreys Take to the Road to Face UCF

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida men's tennis team are set for a road match on Sunday, Feb. 20 when the Ospreys travel to Orlando, Fla. for an 11 a.m. non-conference match against Central Florida at the UCF Tennis Complex.

UNF (4-2) defeated Georgia Southern, 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at UNF Tennis Complex. The Ospreys picked up the doubles point early with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 matches.

Sophomores Moritz Buerchner and Daniel Sotomarino picked up wins at the No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, as both improved to 5-1 on the season. Senior Hleb Maslau claimed a win at No. 3 to move to 4-2 in singles action as did sophomore Leonardo Nahar with a win at No. 4. Freshman Pedro Davisson moved to 3-2 on the season with a win at No. 6 while fellow freshman Beuregard Treyz claimed a win at No. 5 to move to 2-4.

The Knights (2-3) defeated No. 70 Troy, 5-2 in their last outing. Joe Delinks leads UCF this season with a 4-1 record. Freshman Matthew Gladstone is ranked 14th in the Southeast Region while he and fellow freshman Leonel Vivas hold a 10th place ranking in the region in doubles.

Last season the Knights edged, UNF, 4-3 at the UNF Tennis Complex. Maslau and Sotomarino claimed points for UNF in the match.

Following Sunday's match, the Ospreys will return home to host Armstrong Atlantic on Tuesday, March 1.
