Men’s Tennis to Host a Pair of A-Sun Matches

JACKSONVILLE, Fla – The University of North Florida men's tennis team will host a pair of Atlantic Sun opponents beginning with No. 54 USC Upstate on Friday, March 24 at 10 a.m. followed by a Saturday match against Campbell at 1 p.m.

UNF (14-4, 5-1 A-Sun) is coming off a 4-3 conference win over Mercer last weekend. The Ospreys picked up wins at the No. 1 as junior Hleb Maslau picked up the point. Freshman Daniel Sotomarino had a win at No. 3 and senior Kurt Gattiker grabbed a win at No. 6. UNF also picked up the doubles point as Sotomarino and Maslau picked up a win at No. 1 and freshmen Leonardo Nahar and Moritz Buerchner secured the win at No. 2.

USC Upstate (13-5, 5-0 A-Sun) defeated Winthrop, 4-3 in its last outing. The Spartans return several A-Sun All-Conference performers from last season including First Team member Edgar Rodriguez and second team members Jack Roux, Ramiro Blanco, Renzo Airaldi and Javier Tori.

Campbell (12-4, 4-1 A-Sun) fell to East Tennessee State, 6-1 the last time out. The Camels return A-Sun First Team All-Conference member Davy Sum and Second Team member Larbi Lamzouri.

The Ospreys will take to the road following the weekend with a trip to Radford on Thursday, April 4.
