As a junior, 2006-07: Did not compete in an event.
As a sophomore, 2005-06: Saw action in six events, playing in 18 rounds overall ... had one top 30 finish on the season, finishing the year with a 77.3 stroke average ... best finish came in his first event of the season when he posted a final-round 71 at the Gary Koch Invitational to tie for 27th ... recorded a 72 in the final round of the Gator Invitational to finish tied for 37th ... closed out the Hyatt Plantation Club Intercollegiate with a 74 before shooting a 75 to open his next event, the General Jim Hackler Invitational.
As a freshman, 2004-05: Started six events with one top 10 finish on the year... Was a member of the starting five in five tournaments, while playing as an individual at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship... Started UNF[apos]s first two tournaments of the season, opening his collegiate career with a 4-over par performance and a tie for 35th at the Mason Rudolph Collegiate... Fired three rounds in the 70s at the Windon Memorial in his final fall start... Cracked the starting lineup in three of the team[apos]s last four events, finishing strong at the A-Sun Championships... Opened the A-Sun Championships with a career low 69 before shooting rounds of 73 and 70 to finish tied for ninth.
High School: 2004 graduate of Nease High School, where he played for Bud Beech. Earned All First Coast Team honors all four years in high school. Helped lead his team to two state championships.
Juniors: Recorded eight top 15 finishes in national tournaments, including a second-place finish at the 2004 Future Collegiate World Tour event held at the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. Finished second in the Florida State Junior Championships in 2003. Finished as the points leader on the 1999 Titleist Junior Tour.
Personal: Majoring in political science. Born Aug. 7, 1985, in Geneva, Ill. Hometown is Ponte Vedra Beach. Son of Debbie and Chase Nelson. Hobbies include politics and cars. Has a future ambition of holding a political office.
