Softball Falls in Series Finale To Stetson

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -Â North Florida dropped the series finale against Stetson, 6-4, in eight innings on Sunday, April 12.

Senior infielder Ayden Allen put the Ospreys in front early with a solo home run to center field, her third of the season. Graduate student Hallie Langford roped a double down the right field line and was driven in by a two out RBI single from junior infielder Bella Cimino to give UNF a 2-0 advantage.

In the fourth, the Hatters would answer back with a two-run homer to tie the contest, but the Ospreys immediately responded in the bottom half of the inning.

Junior infielder Hannah Davila got the rally started with a double. Redshirt junior Kalyn McCarthy would bring Davila in with an RBI triple. Ayden Allen would drive in the second run of the frame with an RBI single to left field to put North Florida back in front 4-2.

Stetson would even the score, 4-4, with its second two-run homer of the game in the sixth inning.

The game stayed deadlocked, forcing extra innings. In the additional frame, Stetson broke through with a go-ahead home run to center field, securing its first lead of the contest. The Hatters would secure another solo shot to reach the eventual final.
