JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Women's Soccer dropped the first matchup of the River City Rumble to Jacksonville, 2-1, at Hodges Stadium on Sunday night.
North Florida moves to 4-6-2, 2-1 ASUN.
Redshirt junior forward
Allie Fekany gave North Florida an early 1-0 lead after sinking a shot in the bottom right corner of the net off an assist from redshirt junior forward/midfielder
Isabella Pontieri in the 17th minute. For Fekany, it marked her third-straight match with a goal and single-season career-high fifth goal of the season. The assist was Pontieri's seventh of the season.
Jacksonville scored a pair of goals during the 81st and 86th minute to reach the eventual final score.
In goal for North Florida, redshirt freshman
Chrissa Avery secured seven saves. It marked her third match of the season with five or more saves.
Overall, 19 Ospreys logged action with freshman defender
Marisa Ocasek, sophomore midfielder
Sarah Frazer and Avery each logging the full 90 minutes.
North Florida travels to Deland, Fla. for an ASUN matchup with Stetson on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m.
