
Women's Soccer Earns ASUN Road Win Over Stetson, 1-0

DELAND, Fla. – North Florida Women's Soccer earned a hard-fought ASUN Conference road win at Stetson, 1-0, at the Athletic Training Center on Thursday night.Â
With the win, North Florida improves to 5-6-2, 3-1 ASUN.
The score was leveled at the halftime break after the Ospreys tallied seven shots in the first half, but were unable to find the back of the net.Â
In the 65th minute, freshman forward Chandler Browning scored her first collegiate goal on a header into the lower right of the frame off a double assist from redshirt junior forward Allie Fekany and redshirt junior/forward Isabella Pontieri. For Pontieri, it marked her eighth assist of the season. The assist was Fekany's first of the season.
Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Chrissa Avery notched her second clean sheet of the season with a pair of saves.
Overall, 18 Ospreys logged action with Avery, sophomore defender Julia Cosgrove, freshman defender Skya Horth and freshman defender Marisa Ocasek all playing the full 90 minutes.
North Florida continues conference action when it travels to Fort Myers, Fla. to battle FGCU on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m.
