Women's Soccer Comes Away With 1-1 Draw at Davidson

Lynch Tallies First Goal of the Season

DAVIDSON, N.C. - North Florida women's soccer (3-2-3) concluded its non-conference ledger playing to a 1-1 draw against Davidson (4-1-2) Thursday evening.

Chloe Lynch gave the Ospreys the lead in the 15th minute in a game where UNF enjoyed a majority of the possession. The Wildcats would equalize in the 66th minute, with neither team being able to find a winner before the final whistle.

  • First Half: The Ospreys enjoyed a majority of the ball in the opening 10 minutes of the contest … Davidson saw an early chance from a corner kick cleared off the line by Paige McSwigan to keep things tied … in the 15th minute, Sarah Frazer found Lynch, with her shot slipping past goalkeeper Emily Smith to give the Ospreys the lead … North Florida continued to control possession throughout the first period, getting help from some resolute defending … Frazer showed skill in the 37th minute, turning the defender in the box before seeing a shot saved.
  • Second Half: UNF went on the offensive right out of the break with Bella Pontieri hitting a looping shot over the crossbar in the 47th minute … in the 59th minute Davidson forward Dakota Lyons saw a deflected shot fall to the path of Maddie Moody, who was denied by defender Zara Siassi for a Wildcat corner kick … Davidson equalized in the 66th minute after Lyons' shot hit off the glove of Sarah Barrentine, finding the back of the net … the Ospreys had a chance to win it in the 87th minute as Brooklynn Fugel received the ball from the throw in, but her shot was saved by Smith.
