JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – North Florida Women's Soccer's Paige McSwigan notched a hat trick to help take down Jacksonville State, 4-3, on Sunday, Sep. 6, at Jax State Soccer Complex in Jacksonville, Ala.

With the win, the Ospreys improved to 2-1-3 this season and earned their first road win of the year.

Fifth year forward/midfielder Paige McSwigan netted her first collegiate hat trick with goals in the 17th minute, 56th minute and 84th minute. The hat trick was also the first for an Osprey since Sept. 4, 2016.

North Florida threatened early in the contest with a pair of corner kicks in the second minute, and a shot on goal from junior midfielder Morgan Guillemette in the seventh minute of action.

The Ospreys took an early lead over the Gamecocks after McSwigan scored on a free kick, firing the ball into the top-left corner of the net in the 17th minute.

Jacksonville State evened the contest, 1-1, with a goal of its own in the 29th minute.

Junior midfielder Taylor Tamares fired off a shot that was blocked in the 30th minute and a shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the Ospreys were unable to find the back of the net.

Fifth year goalkeeper Sofia Miliancano collected a diving save in the 45th minute to keep the match tied headed into the break. She would contribute three saves in the opening half.

McSwigan would secure a goal in the 56th minute to put the Ospreys back in the lead, and junior forward Allison Souers would contribute her first goal of the season and fifth career goal in the 56th minute to extend the UNF lead, 3-1.

Jacksonville State would respond with a pair of goals in the 73rd and 78th minute to tie the contest.

McSwigan would come through once again for the Ospreys scoring her third goal of the match off a penalty kick in the 84th minute to give UNF the lead for the final time.

For McSwigan, it marked her 18th career goal, moving her into fifth place in Division I program history.

Guillemette made her first start of the season and second career start.

Overall, 19 Ospreys logged action with Tamares, junior defender Julia Cosgrove and senior defender Zoe Looker each playing the full 90.

North Florida closes out its three-match road stretch at No. 13 UCF in Orlando, Fla., at UCF Soccer Complex on Thursday, Sept. 10. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
