Women's Soccer Picks Up Road Draw At Alabama A&M

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – North Florida Women's Soccer picked up a road draw, 1-1, at Alabama A&M on Thursday, Sep. 3, at Bulldog Soccer Field in Huntsville, Ala.
The match remained scoreless heading into the halftime break with the Ospreys holding a 6-3 shot advantage over the Bulldogs.
Alabama A&M broke the scoreless tie in the 48th minute with a goal of its own to take an early 1-0 advantage.
Sophomore midfielder Emery Scerbo threatened offensively with a pair of shots on goal in the 76th and 77th minute that were saved by the goalkeeper.
The Ospreys would breakthrough when fifth year midfielder/forward Paige McSwigan would net her fourth goal of the season in the 87th minute off an assist from junior forward Emma Kelly to secure the draw for North Florida. For Kelly, it marked her first collegiate assist.
North Florida led its opponent in shots, 14-7, shots on goal, 3-2, and corner kicks, 7-0.
Overall, 20 Ospreys logged action with junior defender Julia Cosgrove and junior midfielder Sarah Frazer each playing the full 90.
North Florida will remain on the road to take on Jacksonville State in Jacksonville, Ala. on Sunday, Sept. 6. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
