
Women's Cross Country Notches Runner-Up Finish at ASUN Championship

Ospreys Record Highest Team Ranking Since 2017
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's cross country put together its best race of the season with four runners in the top 17 overall to place as the runner-up at the ASUN XC Championship on Friday morning.
The Ospreys had spectacular performances from its top group, led by Smilla Kolbe who placed among the top-five runners at 16:47.6 in the 5k race. She became the first Osprey cross-country runner to notch First Team All-ASUN honors since Eden Meyer and Claudia Jalon in 2017.
Following Kolbe's fifth-place finish, Isa Leen was the next Osprey to earn All-ASUN honors joining the second team after clocking in at 17:26.5 for 13th overall. Ella Chandler and Ana Markovina moved into 16th and 17th to be Third Team All-ASUN selections, while Cohen Kooker earned ASUN All-Freshman honors in 33rd overall.
UNF also earned its highest team placement in the ASUN meet since the 2017 season. They have steadily built up better finishes over the past few years after going from seventh in 2021 to second in 2024.

FINISH LINE
- It was the first time since the 2017 season that UNF had four or more All-ASUN selections.
- Kolbe finished as the top Osprey for a second consecutive season with her top-five finish at the conference meet.
- Leen was the first Second Team All-ASUN selection since 2020, following Grace Gumpel and Lydia van Dijk.
- Chandler and Markovina finished back-to-back with times of 17:33.0 and 17:35.0 in the top-18 overall.
- They joins Kolbe as the only Third Team All-ASUN selections in Osprey program history.
- Annika Buser was the next-best time for UNF with a time of 17:51.4 inside the top 25.
- Emma Millson and Ines Arqued filled out the rest of the top 30 for the Ospreys as top-seven team runners.
- Kooker was the first Osprey to earn ASUN All-Freshman honors since the 2018 season, finishing in 33rd with her time of 18:11.6.
