Markovina Finishes as Lead Osprey in Top 100 Overall
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - North Florida women's cross country put its best foot forward against the top teams in their region to finish off the '24 XC season at the NCAA South Regional on Friday morning.
The Ospreys were led by junior Ana Markovina with her sub-22 minute 6k run to inch inside the top 100 runners at the meet. She helped the team reach a top-25 standing placing over teams such as South Alabama, Mercer and UAB, as well as a quartet of ASUN competitors.
"The women had a good season and we made a lot of progress. Today wasn't necessarily a great day. We didn't run a couple kids and a few kids have been sick, so it was just one of those days. All in all, it was a nice to finish up the season with a really good year. Our top runner, Ana [Markovina], did a nice job and we've seen a lot of progress from her throughout the year."
