Kolbe Places as Runner-Up at ASUN XC Championship

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's cross country placed third among 12 teams in the ASUN Women's Cross Country Championship early Friday morning at Cecil Field.
Smilla Kolbe finished as the second overall individual in the conference championship meet. In her lone cross country race this season, she set a program record for the 5k race at 16:23.0.
For the third time in her career, Kolbe has earned All-ASUN recognition in cross country, as well as back-to-back seasons as a First Team All-ASUN selection. Fellow senior Ella Chandler placed 15th overall to be awarded Third Team All-ASUN with a time of 17:17.7.
UNF had four individuals in the top 20 overall, as both Ana Markovina and Annika Buser joined Kolbe and Chandler as the top Osprey runners. It's the second straight year that UNF has placed among the top three teams and the third consecutive year they have finished as a top-four team.
North Florida will head up to John Hunt Park to compete in the NCAA South Regional Championship on Friday, Nov. 14, in Huntsville, Ala.
