Both Livingston and Rougier Scored Double Figures

FLORENCE, Ala. - North Florida women's basketball (7-19, 4-12 ASUN) built a double-digit lead early in the first half, but fell late in the game against North Alabama (13-14, 8-8 ASUN), 74-51, on Saturday evening.

The Ospreys came out hot in the first quarter with 24 points from the seniors Brianna Livingston and Emma Broermann, leading the way in scoring. It was one-possession game for most of the second and third period until UNA opened up the game in the fourth to put it away.

Kaila Rougier joined Livingston with 10 points on the night with 11 rebounds combined. Emma Broermann was one point and one rebound away from a double-double with nine and nine, while Sarah Taub had similar numbers with seven points and seven rebounds.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

First Half: Ospreys got out to a hot start early with Taub connecting on a fast-break score...back-to-back buckets from Livingston, along with a jumper from Lyric Swann, put UNF up 8-3 approaching the first media timeout...Broermann called for a ball in the paint that was followed up with a Taub layup to double the lead over UNA...Broermann ended the first quarter with free throws to jump to an 11-point lead through one...UNF kept the double-digit lead with layups from Livingston and Broermann, but a 10-point run from the Lions tied the game at 28...Broermann cleaned up a missed free throw to get back a three-point lead, but UNA responded with each score to be knotted at 35 a piece at the half.

Second Half: The first points out of the break didn't come until Kaila Rougier hit a mid-range jumper at the 7:16 mark in the third...Helena Rafnsdottir and Rougier both hit shots in the third period that kept it tied against UNA...the score did not reach out of a one-possession game on either side until the Lions went on a six-point run to be up five heading to the fourth...UNA caught fire in the when they needed to in the fourth quarter with 20 straight points in crunch time...L. Swann made back-to-back layups within under two minutes left, but it was too late to make anything of it on the road.

Edged out the Lions on the boards with a 40-38 margin.
Taub set a career-high mark in steals with four total against the Lions.
It is also her 11th game during her freshman campaign with multiple steals in a game.
Livingston matched her career high in minutes with 32 total on the court Saturday.
Rafnsdottir recorded a pair of blocks for the third time in her freshman season.
UNF was down to eight players total with Maddie Millar and Jaelyn Swann out due to injury.
The starting lineup combined for 45 of the 51 points scored against UNA.
