
McGill Collects All-Freshman Team Honors To Highlight ASUN Postseason Honors

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced that North Florida Women's Basketball freshman forward Dezuray McGill earned 2025-26 ASUN All-Freshman Team honors on Monday.Â

The selection marks the third-straight season that North Florida has had an ASUN All-Freshman Team honoree under Head Coach Erika Lambert.Â

McGill has started 23 of 29 games and averaged 10.2 points and 4.3 rebounds on 50.4 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from three in 21.5 minutes per game. She has led the Ospreys in field-goal percentage, field-goals made and three-point percentage.Â

Her averages remained strong in ASUN play, where she has averaged 10.0 points and 5.1 rebounds on 46.7 percent from the field and 76.7 percent from the free-throw line in 27.7 minutes per game. McGill was named ASUN Freshman of the Week twice this season on Dec. 1 and Dec. 22.Â

McGill scored a career-high 30 points on 15-21 from the field, in addition to four rebounds, two assists and two steals in 25 minutes against Coastal Georgia on Dec. 16. She added her ASUN-high 27 points and seven rebounds against Central Arkansas on Jan. 17. She turned in 10 or more points in 13 games, nine of which were in ASUN play, and 20 or more points in two games this season.Â

In addition to McGill's honors, junior Alonya Waldon and redshirt sophomore Alexa Washington secured Academic All-ASUN nods. Waldon boasts a 3.57 grade-point average and majors in Psychology, while Washington adds a 3.67 grade-point average and majors in Marketing.Â

Waldon has started 19 of 28 games played in and averaged a team-high 11.0 points, in addition to 2.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals in 22.5 minutes per game in 2025-26. She has reached 10 or more points in 15 games this season, 10 of which were in ASUN games. Waldon was named ASUN Newcomer of the Week on Feb. 24 after she posted a career-high 27 points at Stetson on Feb. 19.Â

Washington has started the last 28 games and averaged 8.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 30.5 minutes per game in 2025-26. She posted her first career double-double and the only double-double of the season for North Florida with 14 points, a career-high 11 rebounds and four steals against Queens on Feb. 21. For Washington, nine of her 10 double-digit scoring outings this season have come against ASUN opponents.

No. 10 seed North Florida faces No. 7 seed West Georgia in the 2026 ASUN Tournament First Round on Tuesday, March 3 at 5 p.m. ET at Swisher Gymnasium.
