Hartenstein and Crespo Dispatch Florida Doubles Duo on Day Two of Regionals

Carroll and Crespo Also Earn Wins in Singles Main Draw

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Jonas Hartenstein and Rodrigo Crespo continued on in the doubles main draw with a convincing 8-3 win against Florida's No. 4-seeded Tanapatt Nirundor and Togan Tokac on day two of the ITA Regionals Friday, Oct. 21. Crespo also joined Matt Carroll in claiming a singles main draw win, picking up victories against two Power Five foes.

Hartenstein and Crespo followed up yesterday's big win with a dominant performance against the second-highest seeded duo on their half of the main doubles draw bracket. Nirundorn and Tokac out of Florida entered the match with a bye yesterday, getting a lift from a great performance at ITA Nationals earlier this fall. The UNF duo cruised by, winning 8-3 to setup a meeting with 14th-seeded Kevin Huempfner and Hunter Robbins of FAU tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. in the round of 16.

UNF had an extremely busy day in singles play, with North Florida's six representatives competing in eight matches against opponents from Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Georgia, Miami and Stetson.

Crespo picked up another power five win, this time in singles play, defeating Joshua Dous-Karpenschif of Florida State, 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (6). He would come up just short in three frames against five-seeded Teo Giusca of Georgia.

Carroll started his weekend of singles competition strong, sweeping Georgia Tech's Rohan Sachdev, 6-3, 6-3. He was edged in two frames in the following round after taking on Antoine Cornut Chauvinc of FSU.

Bruno Vietri, PJ Kotan, Breno Marques and Hartenstein also competed in the main draw of singles play. Play picks up in the consolation rounds tomorrow morning.
