
Tournament Preview - Men's Tennis Takes on ITA Southeast Regionals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The first official fall competition of the month of October features North Florida competing against the region's best at the ITA Southeast Regionals in Tallahassee, Fla., from Thursday, Oct. 20-Monday, Oct. 24.
It's the first of two events hosted by Florida State this fall that UNF will be partaking in, as the Ospreys head to the Bedford Cup Nov. 3-6, back at FSU.
Matches being played on the south courts will be live streamed with the exception of court 5.

DRAWS
Qualifying
-A draw of 32 will be created for singles qualifying.
-There will be two rounds of singles qualifying with a consolation match on Thursday.
-Eight players will advance to the main draw.
-There will not be doubles qualifying.
Singles
-There will be a main draw of 64.
Consolation Rounds
-There will be one round of consolation singles in qualifying.
-For main draw singles, there will be a first-round backdraw. It will not be a compass draw.
-There will not be doubles consolation matches.
Secondary Draw Singles
-There will be a draw or round-robin group(s) for singles players who did not make qualifying.
Doubles
-There will be a draw of 64 with some byes in the first round.
Scoring Format
All matches are No-AD scoring.
Qualifying Singles
-Two out of three sets, with a match tiebreak in lieu of a third set.
Consolation Singles
-Two out of three sets, with a match tiebreak in lieu of a third set.
Secondary Draw Singles
-Two out of three sets, with a match tiebreak in lieu of a third set.
Main Draw Singles
-Full two out of three sets.
Qualifying and Main Doubles
-8-game pro set with a tiebreaker at 7-all.
-Main draw semifinals and finals are two out of three sets, with a match tiebreak in lieu of a third set.
Seeding
-Qualifying Singles - Determined by UTR.
-Main Draw Singles - 16 seeds determined by ITA national ranking, then by Committee selection.
-Main Draw Doubles - 16 seeds determined by ITA national ranking, then UTR (average UTR of the doubles pairs).
Selections
-A total of 45 singles players will be entered into the main draw. These are based on the school's final 2022 Regional ranking.
-A total of 11 players will be given at-large spots into the singles main draw. These will be based on UTR as of Oct. 10.
-The next 32 players will be entered into qualifying, with eight players making the main draw. The Committee determines how many players from each school will be entered into qualifying based on players' UTRs and the number of players submitted by the school.
-Those who do not make qualifying will be entered in the Secondary Draw for singles.
-Any ties in UTR will be broken up by using the players' UTR from the previous week or weeks (or very recent head-to-head result).
-All doubles teams entered will make the draw of 64.
