Last Time Out
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - UNF men's tennis (0-1) dropped its season opener against a tough Florida State (1-0) team, 5-0, on the road Sunday, January 17. It was the Ospreys' first match since a 5-2 defeat of Chattanooga March 11, 2020.
Taking Inventory
- Rodrigo Crespo made his UNF debut at Florida State Jan. 17.
- This is the second road match for UNF before making its 2021 home debut Feb. 5.
- Dominik Barton and Matt Carroll were ranked No. 56 in the ITA Preseason Doubles Rankings.
- Head coach Matt Lucas enters his fourth season as the head coach at UNF. Assistant coach Bart Van Leijsen begins year two.
- North Florida's roster features seven returners and three newcomers. Charley Castaing is the lone member of the 2019-20 team that is not returning.
- UNF went 8-2 last year before the season was cut short.
- UNF newcomers include Rodrigo Crespo, Jonas Hartenstein and Breno Marques. Crespo went 20-10 with Western Michigan in singles play a year ago, while Hartenstein picked up time with Mississippi State.Federico Nani returns for another year after his senior year was shortened due to COVID-19.

- Georgia Southern opened the season at the MLK Invite hosted by Georgia Tech.
- The Eagles competed against South Carolina, Georgia Tech and Georgia.
- Pascal Wagemaker and Alexandros Roumpis won at one doubles vs. South Carolina, the Eagles' lone win on the weekend.
- Georgia Southern has a large roster, featuring 14 student-athletes.
- Head coach Sander Koning enters with a 79-67 career record at Georgia Southern and 10-20 record in the Sun Belt.
