Men’s Tennis Sees Doubles Success At ITA Southeast Regional Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – North Florida men's tennis excelled in doubles play over four days of matches at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships hosted by Florida at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex from Oct. 8-11.Â
The Ospreys' doubles pairs of Enrique Pena and Andreas Scott and Youssef Labbene and Breno Marques each advanced to the round of 16 with doubles wins in the round of 32 on Thursday. UNF, Georgia, Florida State and Miami were the only four programs to have multiple doubles teams advance to the round of 16. It also marked the first time since 2018 that North Florida has had multiple doubles teams advance to the round of 16.
Pena and Scott would go on to pick up a doubles victory on Friday in the round of 16 over a ranked opponent to move on to the quarterfinals. For Pena and Scott, it marked the deepest Osprey doubles run in the ITA Southeast Regional Championships since Jack Findel-Hawkins and Lasse Muscheites advanced to the semifinals in 2016.
North Florida will be back in action when it hosts the Conference Individual Tournament from Oct. 24-26 at the UNF Tennis Complex.
