SAY WHAT...
"The Meyers went 1st and 3rd for a dominating performance in the 10,000 meter run. Eden defended her championship and ran a very smart race, remaining in control on a warm evening to take the 10,000 meter win. Grace also ran a great race in earning a third place showing. Grace ran over two minutes faster than her time from last year when she finished in fifth place. Â I am so proud of these two young ladies, because they work hard and take great care of themselves. They are great competitors who prepare well. That makes a nice combination and it is awesome to see their work yield such fine results.
"Louisa Washburn followed up her indoor runner-up with another strong performance in the pole vault where she once again was the runner-up.  Louisa is a fine athlete and has such great poise. She works hard and it was very impressive to see her maintain a high level of competition from January all the way though to May.  She has a very exciting future. Â
"In the steeplechase, Kaitlin King led the way finishing 5th followed by Audrey Carpenter in 6th and Mary Kate Thyfault in 7th. Kaitlin has really made some great progress this season in the steeplechase.  She has been sick that past few days and today wasn't quite what she was looking for but she competed very well and while she never would make excuses I know whe was not completely over the sickness.  I am proud of her effort.  Audrey Carpenter finished in a scoring position and has also made some nice progress this outdoor season.  I  know she is on track to have a very bright future and we are both excited about next year. Mary Kate has had a very good senior year. She has stayed healthy and made some nice steps along the way.  While tonight wasn't what she had scripted it has been a nice year and she still gets another chance in the 1500m tomorrow." -- Head coach Jeff Pigg
