
Chandler Improves ASUN Top Time In Women's 800m To Conclude East Coast Relays

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Track and Field concluded regular-season action at the East Coast Relays at Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium on Saturday.Â

North Florida celebrated its 18 seniors prior to the start of competition.Â

"Ella Chandler improved her ASUN-leading time in the Women's 800m, Director of Cross Country/Track and Field Jeff Pigg said. "Melissa Epting debut in the Women's 800m was awesome. Rashad Hemissi and Shamar Henry hitting 1.50 was nice work and it was a great personal-best time for Shamar. It was also great celebrating our seniors and the alumni gathering."

Senior Ella Chandler placed second in the Women's 800m with a time of 2:06.56 to remain the ASUN Conference leader in the event. Sophomore Shamar Henry posted a personal-best time of 1:50.65 to finish fourth and was followed by sophomore Rashad Hemissi in seventh at 1:50.71 in the Men's 800m.

The meet featured an early multi-hour weather delay.Â
North Florida hosts the 2026 ASUN Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Thursday-Saturday, May 14-16Â at Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium.Â
