SAY WHAT...
"I am proud of the team's efforts. There are so many events that we were not able do and sometimes it makes it hard to rally the team for these championship events. Â
To their credit,  they all came to play and they competed hard. I am very proud of both team's performances.
"Eden Meyer finished her regular season doubling back from her 10k victory to win the 5000m run going away. Once again Eden showed her toughness and preparation. Competing in both the 10k and 5K is tough and she was prepared and willing to do what it took to come out on top. Grace Meyer also doubled, following up her third place 10K with a 6th place finish in the 5000m.
"We had four of the six scorers in the 800m including a pair of season bests for winner Vanessa Philbert and Morgan Rodriguez. Vanessa has had a very nice career here at UNF and it was thrilling to see her pull off the win here at home in her last meet.  She ran a very courageous race, which was by far her best effort of the year. She saved the best for last. Morgan also capped off her career with a two-second improvement on her persoanl best, charging home down the stretch for a 4th place finish, It was her best ASUN race of her career. Freshman Skye Zeller shook off her injury and finished 5th in her specialty event. Senior Kaitlin King followed up her 6th place finish in the steeple chase last night with a 6th place showing in the 800. The girls performance in the 800m was instrumental in helping us finish in 3rd as a team, ahead of Lipscomb. Â
"Senior Tianna Hearn capped of a fantastic senior year with a 4th-place finish in the 100 hurdles and then came back to finish 3rd with a PR in the grueling 400m hurdles race. Â Tianna has embraced the work it takes to be successful and has trained everyday with passion and focus allowing her last race to be the best of her career. Â
"Mary Kate Thyfault finished her career on a very sweet note, as the senior placed 4th in the 1500m run. She has faced some injuries over her career but was finally able to put it all together. It was nice to see all of that work come to fruition yielding her solid finish. Â
"Alyssa Young just continues to impress in her specialty, the high jump. She jumped 1.71m to place second. She is qualified for the East Region and will look to continue her great year in twp weeks at the East Regional.  Senior Alexandra Ellis finished 5th in the high jump to bring home some nice points in an Osprey strong event. Â
"Junior Hallie Grimes finished 3rd in the 400m with a very strong 55.7 time. After recovering from a mid-season injury, Hallie has come back very strong and next year sure looks to be very promising. Tianna, Hallie, Vanessa and Morgan came together to run a very nice 4x400m relay finishing second and capping of the the 3rd place team finish." -- Head coach Jeff Pigg
