
Beach @OspreyVB Blanks Blazers, Falls to #17 Tulane

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - North Florida beach volleyball split its first day at the Florida State Duals with a sweep of UAB in the morning before falling 3-2 to No. 17 Tulane in the second match of the day.
The Ospreys now stand at 20-6 on the season heading into its final two regular season matches.Â
Senior Ambre Desaulnay and freshman Chaney Howard grabbed two wins at the No. 4 spot, while redshirt freshman Courtney Miller and junior Katarina Raicevic took the wins at the No. 3 spot.Â
In the first match, Desaulnay and Howard edged out the Blazers, 22-20, 27-29, 15-11. Miller and Raicevic also took the three-set win, 21-11, 18-21, 15-3. Against Tulane, both pairs took the wins in two sets, but it was not enough to take down the Green Waves.
The Ospreys got their first win of the day from Carina Hoff and Emily Davanzo who grabbed the victory in the No. 5 spot, 21-13, 22-20. Desaulnay and Howard made it a 2-0 match before the No. 1 duo of Megan Crawshaw and Jessalyn Kinlaw took down the No. 1 UAB pair, 22-20, 21-16. Miller and Raicevic's win made it 4-0, while Lauren Ford and Kimberly Ferguson clinched the shut out with a 20-22, 21-17, 15-10 victory.Â
With the match against Tulane tied at 2-all, Ford and Ferguson were battling in the No. 2 position in the third set, but Michaela Ressor and Avery Hoven grabbed the win for Tulane to move to 16-11.
UNF gets things started early on Saturday against College of Charleston at 10 a.m. before taking on No. 9 Georgia State at 1 p.m.
