Unbalanced Attack Leads to Losses for Beach @OspreyVB

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - An unbalanced attack across two matches doomed North Florida beach volleyball as the Ospreys fell to College of Charleston, 3-2 and then dropped a 3-2 decision to No. 9 Georgia State.

Both of the lower courts against College of Charleston went to three sets, but the Cougars got the points on both. At the No. 3 spot, Courtney Miller and Katarina Raicevic downed the Charleston duo, 21-14, 21-8. Lauren Ford and Kimberly Ferguson followed suit in the No. 2 court, 21-16, 21-13, but it was not enough for the win. The Ospreys' No. 1 duo battled, but couldn't get it done as the Cougars won 25-23, 22-20.

Agains the Panthers, Chaney Howard and Ambre Desaulnay grabbed a 21-16, 21-16 win in the No. 4 position, but Georgia State tied it with a win at No. 5. GSU then went out in frfont with a win at No. 3 against Miller and Raicevic, but Jessalyn Kinlaw and Megan Crawshaw had no trouble downing the No. 1 spot with a 21-12, 21-14 victory to even it at 2-all. For the second straight match, it came down to the final dual on the court and again it fell to the opponent.

The Ospreys now prepare for the Atlantic Sun Championship, beginning on Friday, April 22. UNF earns a bye in the opening round and faces the winner of the No. 3 and No. 6 match.
