KANNAPOLIS, N.C. -- The No.34-ranked North Florida men's golf team carded a disappointing final round of 302 falling into 10th-place Sunday in the Irish Creek Collegiate at The Club at Irish Creek.
The Ospreys, who entered the round in eighth, finished with a 54-hole total of 886. Freshman Andrew Alligood was the squad's top performer in the closing round shooting a 2-over 74 to finish tied for 29th at 220. Senior Taylor Hancock earned the team's top tournament finish of tied for 19th (218) following his final round 75.
"We played very poorly today," said head coach Scott Schroeder. "The last two days were not up to our expectations. Hopefully, it was partly to do with the fact that we hadn't competed in a tournament in three weeks. We have four days to get ready before we head to the Atlantic Sun Championship. We will work hard to be prepared for that important event."

The UNF freshman duo of Philip Knowles and Travis Trace tied for 40th with totals of 224, after posting rounds of 76 and 77, respectively. Sophomore Jordan Batchelor rounded out the Osprey lineup in a tie for 84th (237) after a final round 80.
No. 14-ranked Wake Forest claimed the team title with a three-round tally of 855 with Atlantic Sun Conference rival Kennesaw State finishing runner-up at 859. No. 24 North Carolina was third at 860 while No. 6 Florida State (867) and VCU (868) completed the Top 5. Ryan Cole of James Madison earned the individual medalist crown by seven strokes finishing at 10-under 203.
North Florida will next look to defend their Atlantic Sun Conference championship next weekend (Apr. 17-19) at Chateau Elan Legends Course in Braselton, Ga.
