
@OspreyWTen Looks to Stay Unbeaten in A-Sun Play

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - After an undefeated weekend to open A-Sun play at NJIT and USC Upstate, North Florida women's tennis returns home to face Lipscomb and Kennesaw State on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
The Ospreys and Bisons face off at 2 p.m. on Thursday before the Owls come to town for a 10 a.m. match on Saturday.
North Florida is riding a three-match win streak and have only lost one match during that time. The Ospreys are 7-5 on the year and 2-0 in league action. At the No. 1 position, Noemi Hemmerich is 7-5 and ranks in the top 5 in the league, while Luise Intert, who is currently undefeated in the No. 4 position, is first in that spot with a 6-0 mark and 7-3 overall. Quetzali Vazquez is currently riding a team-best four-match win streak, while four others are on a three-match stretch. In doubles play Vazquez and Hemmerich have won three straight and are 4-2 in the No. 1 position.
Lipscomb is currently 10-4 on the year with a 0-1 mark in conference play after dropping a 5-2 loss against FGCU on Thursday, March 24. Melissa Kromer leads the league with 11 total wins including an 8-1 mark in the No. 5 spot. The duo of Kromer and Laura Kent own a league-best 8-2 mark in doubles with a 7-2 record in the No. 1 spot. In singles, Kent is 8-2 overall with all of the wins coming in the No. 3 position. Katerina Kandyba and Hanna Victorsson are second on the team with a 4-1 mark. The Ospreys own a 9-0 series record against the Bisons with UNF earning back-to-back shutouts in 2014 and 2015. The Ospreys have only give up two total losses to Lipscomb dating back to 2007.
Kennesaw State enters the match with a 1-13 record and an 0-1 conference mark. The Owls are led by sophomore Alexandra Mercado and senior Isabela Castro with four dual singles wins each. The Ospreys own a 12-0 mark against Kennesaw State with UNF grabbing a 4-0 win in Jacksonville in 2015. The Ospreys are 7-0 against the Owls in Jacksonville.
After the conference weekend, UNF hosts in-state foe Bethune Cookman on Tuesday, April 5 at 5 p.m.
